Text-first sustainability education—designed to be practical, accessible, and calm.

Growing Greens Courses started as a set of community notes: how to reduce waste without buying new stuff, how to read labels, and how to keep habits consistent when life gets busy. We turned those notes into a curriculum that favors clarity over hype—short lessons, checklists, and realistic routines that work in apartments, dorms, and small homes.

Mission

Make sustainability doable—measured in habits you can repeat, not products you can buy.

Teaching style

Text-first, low cognitive load, accessibility-friendly patterns with real-life constraints.

At a glance

  • Practical by default

Every concept ships with a tiny habit, checklist, or template.

  • Text-first learning

Clean layout, readable rhythm, and accessible components.

  • Transparent assumptions

We show the math, the tradeoffs, and where estimates can vary.

Office & support

Mon–Fri, 09:00–18:00

Our values (what we optimize for)

Sustainability isn’t a badge—it’s a system. We pick interventions that are repeatable, measurable, and kind to your schedule.

Updated weekly

Clarity

No jargon walls. Definitions first, then examples, then the smallest next step.

Evidence

We cite ranges and assumptions. If it’s uncertain, we label it uncertain.

Accessibility

Keyboard-friendly UI, readable contrast, and calm motion.

Momentum

We optimize for habits that survive travel, busy weeks, and limited budgets.

Instructor roster

Initial-only avatars keep the page fast and focused. Each instructor has a distinct approach and a shared standard: teach what you can use this week.

How we build courses

Our course pages are designed to load fast and read cleanly: a strong hierarchy, predictable components, and careful contrast in both light and dark mode. We include checklists, calculators, and short “day-one” actions so you can make progress immediately.

  • Small steps win

We prioritize tiny interventions with compounding effects.

  • Plain language

If a term matters, we define it—no gatekeeping.

  • Privacy-respecting

Sustainability Impact Estimator

Playful estimates. Transparent assumptions. Preference cookies optional.

Estimated results

Numbers are approximate and depend on region, diet choices, and transport distance.

CO₂e saved

Per year

Water saved

Per year

Confidence note

Run an estimate to see assumptions.

Assumptions (simplified)

  • Swapping 2 meat meals/week ≈ 0.7–1.8 kg CO₂e saved per meal replaced (per person), varies by meat type.
  • Water savings are directional (liters) and vary widely by ingredients.
  • Replacing 1 car commute day/week assumes ~10 km round trip and average car emissions.

Values in practice

How our values translate into course structure.

Clarity

  • Each lesson starts with a one-sentence goal.
  • Checkpoints after 5–7 minutes of reading.

Evidence

  • We present ranges instead of pretending precision.
  • Assumptions are shown next to estimators.

Accessibility

  • Focusable controls, consistent spacing, and visible focus rings.
  • Reduced motion-friendly design by default.

Momentum

  • Weekly challenges built around 10–15 minutes/day.
  • Scripts for “busy week” resets, not perfect streaks.

Instructor details

Short bios + “ask me about” prompts.
